About Paulien Bremmer
Studio
Studio Paulien Bremmer is an interdisciplinary design studio with a focus on architecture, started in 2005 in Amsterdam. We are a flexible and collaborative agency. We question, write, teach, research, design and build the world around us. In a participatory design process, the studio strives for outspoken, beautiful, sustainable and involved projects within an open structure; both in working form and in what we want to make. We see architecture as a free space for possibilities, as a setting for diverse use and appropriation. By understanding the place and the rituals of use, we design a social space in which different perspectives come together. We work on adaptive and generous designs that can also be transformed sustainably in the future. Built worksvary from a bookshelf to a new building for the Rietveld Art Academy and Sandberg Institute.
