In her film and photography projects, Paulien Bremmer works with spaces and areas that hide from view. They are spaces either without a program, or with a very specific one, such as flight routes, general staircases, the transit area of an airport, or a temporary island. She investigates environments like these by infiltrating, taking part in, or integrating herself in the environment by becoming a character in a non-fiction story. The environments take on a new significance when she develops a scenario to take place in them.
