As follow-up of the show A Perfect Day in 2020, the studio was asked to design again the following exhibition in 2022. Again circulairity was a principle starting point for design of the exhibition.
As a foundation, A Perfect Day offers a platform for the combined art of drawing and text. The idea for the scenography for the bi annual exposition was to provide an environment in which exhibition, presentation, workshop, lecture, film, concert and party would take place simultaneously in the same space and inspire each other. It thus becomes an environment that offers space for unexpected encounters, spontaneity, and improvisation; a space for possibilities. The design is foreseen as a pink colored landscape of pedestals on which you can exhibit, stand, sit, and hold interviews, performances, or workshops.
The exhibition is completely circular: the stacked and painted pedestals are leftovers from previous exhibitions in the Eye-Film and Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam among others. The pedestals and walls are returned to the storage for subsequent re-use. The 70 wooden lamps which were designed and executed for the exhibition got a second life at last day visitors homes. Exhibiting works from a.o. Katinka Polderman, Bruin Parry & Jan Hoek, Lily van der Stokker, Olga Scholten, Paul Faassen David Shrigley, Jan Rothuizen, John Körmeling en Rogier Roeters.
